(a) There is in the state government, in the Business and Consumer Services Agency, a Department of Consumer Affairs.
(b) The amendments made to this section by the act adding this subdivision shall become operative on July 1, 2026.

Establishes the Department of Consumer Affairs within state government and places it in the Business and Consumer Services Agency. Sets amendments made by the act adding the second subdivision to become operative July 1, 2026, without otherwise altering the department’s duties or constituent entities in this provision.
