The board shall, if possible, designate at least one steward at each track where a horse racing meeting is conducted who is a former jockey or at least one steward at each track where a harness meeting is conducted who is a former driver.

Requires the board, if possible, to designate at least one former jockey as a steward at each track conducting a horse racing meeting or at least one former driver as a steward at each track conducting a harness meeting. The duty is expressly conditioned on the designation being possible.
