Sections 21636, 21636.1, 21637, and 21638, insofar as they apply to holding periods for personal property, are not applicable to personal property pledged to a pawnbroker with respect to the redemption of personal property by the pledgor.

Notes

Exempts personal property pledged to a pawnbroker from the referenced statutory holding periods when the issue is redemption of that property by the pledgor. The exemption is limited to those holding-period requirements as applied to pledged personal property being redeemed by the person who pledged it.
