A franchisor is prohibited from modifying a franchise agreement, or requiring a general release, in exchange for any assistance related to a declared state or federal emergency.

Notes

Prohibits a franchisor from modifying a franchise agreement or requiring a general release as the price of providing assistance related to a declared state or federal emergency. The restriction applies when the requested modification or release is exchanged for emergency-related assistance and covers emergencies declared at either governmental level.
