California CodesBusiness and Professions Code - BPCDivision 10 — CannabisChapter 2 — AdministrationSection 26011.5

The protection of the public shall be the highest priority for the department in exercising licensing, regulatory, and disciplinary functions under this division. Whenever the protection of the public is inconsistent with other interests sought to be promoted, the protection of the public shall be paramount.

Notes

Establishes public protection as the department’s highest priority in exercising licensing, regulatory, and disciplinary functions under the cannabis division. Requires protection of the public to be paramount whenever that interest conflicts with other interests the department is directed to promote, so the statutory priority controls those regulatory conflicts.
