California Codes, Business and Professions Code - BPC, Division 3 — Professions and Vocations Generally, Chapter 3.5 — Landscape Architecture, Article 3 — Application of Chapter, Section 5641.4

A landscape contractor licensed under the statutes of this state, insofar as they work within the classification for which the license is issued, may design systems and facilities for work to be performed and supervised by that landscape contractor and is exempt from this chapter, except that a landscape contractor shall not use the title “landscape architect” unless they hold a license as required under this chapter.

Notes

Allows a California-licensed landscape contractor, within the contractor’s license classification, to design systems and facilities for work the contractor will perform and supervise, and exempts that work from the landscape-architecture chapter. Prohibits the contractor from using the title “landscape architect” unless the contractor also holds the required landscape-architecture license.
