Except as provided in Section 12509, any person who removes or obliterates any tag or device placed upon any weight, measure, or weighing or measuring instrument by a sealer is guilty of a misdemeanor.

Notes

Establishes a misdemeanor, except as provided by the referenced exception, when a person removes or obliterates any tag or device a sealer placed on a weight, measure, or weighing or measuring instrument. The provision criminalizes unauthorized interference with sealer markings while expressly preserving the separately referenced statutory exception.
