A physician in attendance at any contest or match pursuant to Section 18705 shall have the authority to stop any contest or match that is conferred upon the referee. The physician’s authority shall be limited to a medically related injury and the physical condition of a contestant.

Notes

Allows a physician attending a contest or match under the referenced requirement to stop the event with the same authority conferred on the referee. The physician may exercise that stoppage authority only for a medically related injury or because of a contestant’s physical condition.
