A provision in a franchise agreement restricting venue to a forum outside this state is void with respect to any claim arising under or relating to a franchise agreement involving a franchise business operating within this state.

Notes

Prohibits enforcing a franchise-agreement provision that restricts venue to a forum outside California for any claim arising under or relating to a franchise agreement involving a franchise business operating in California. The rule voids only the out-of-state venue restriction for claims within that stated scope.
