An obligation is extinguished by an offer of performance, made in conformity to the rules herein prescribed, and with intent to extinguish the obligation.

Notes

Establishes that an obligation is extinguished when a conforming offer of performance is made with the intent to extinguish that obligation. The offer must satisfy the rules governing tender of performance and must be made for the purpose of ending the obligation rather than for some other purpose.
