California Codes, Code of Civil Procedure - CCP, Part 2 — Of Civil Actions, Title 10 — Actions in Particular Cases, Chapter 7 — Actions Relating to Groundwater Rights, Article 4 — Intervention, Section 837.5

(a) The state may intervene in a comprehensive adjudication conducted pursuant to this chapter.

(b) This section does not affect substantive law.

Notes

Allows the State of California to intervene in a groundwater adjudication conducted under this chapter. The provision expressly states that this intervention authority does not affect substantive law, so permitting the state to become a party changes no underlying substantive rights or legal standards by itself.
