Performance of an obligation, by one of several persons who are jointly liable under it, extinguishes the liability of all.

Notes

Establishes that full performance of a jointly owed obligation by any one of the persons jointly liable extinguishes the liability of all jointly liable persons. Once one joint obligor fully performs the shared obligation, the creditor may not continue enforcing that same obligation against the others.
