California Codes, Civil Code - CIV, Division 3 — Obligations, Part 4 — Obligations Arising from Particular Transactions, Title 1.3.5 — Consumer Refunds, Chapter 1 — Prepaid Debit Cards, Section 1748.41

If a business offers a refund to a customer via a prepaid debit card for a purchase initiated by the customer in California, the business shall provide the customer with at least one other method of receiving the refund other than a prepaid debit card.

Notes

Requires a business that offers a customer a refund through a prepaid debit card for a purchase initiated in California to provide at least one other method for receiving the refund. The customer therefore must have an alternative refund method in addition to the prepaid debit card option offered by the business.
