California Codes, Civil Code - CIV, Division 3 — Obligations, Part 4 — Obligations Arising from Particular Transactions, Title 14 — Lien, Chapter 2 — Mortgage, Article 1 — Mortgages in General, Section 2944.10

Any action to enforce any cause of action pursuant to Section 2944.7 or 2944.8 shall be commenced within four years after the cause of action accrued. No cause of action barred under existing law on the effective date of this section shall be revived by its enactment.

Notes

Limits an action enforcing a cause of action under either referenced mortgage-relief provision to four years after the cause of action accrued. The four-year limitations period governs those enforcement actions, and enactment of the provision does not revive any cause of action that was already barred under existing law on the provision’s effective date.
