No occupant registration agreement or tenant rental agreement shall contain a provision by which the occupant or tenant waives his or her rights under the provisions of this chapter, and any waiver of these rights shall be deemed contrary to public policy and void.
Notes
Prohibits an occupant registration agreement or tenant rental agreement from containing a provision waiving the occupant’s or tenant’s rights under the chapter. Any attempted waiver of those rights is declared contrary to public policy and void, so neither type of agreement can make such a waiver effective.
