California Codes, Business and Professions Code - BPC, Division 3 — Professions and Vocations Generally, Chapter 11.6 — Alarm Companies, Article 3 — Application of Chapter, Section 7592.5
No person engaged in performing any service requiring a license under this chapter may bring or maintain any action in any court of this state for the collection of compensation for the performance of any act or agreement, without alleging and proving, that the person was duly licensed at all times during the performance of the act or agreement.
Notes
Bars a person who performs services requiring a license under the chapter from bringing or maintaining a California court action to collect compensation for the act or agreement unless the person alleges and proves being duly licensed at all times during performance. Continuous licensure throughout the work is therefore a prerequisite to the compensation action.
