California Codes, Business and Professions Code - BPC, Division 3 — Professions and Vocations Generally, Chapter 2 — Advertisers, Article 1 — General Provisions, Section 5220

“Primary highway” means any highway, other than an interstate highway, designated as a part of the federal-aid primary system in existence on June 1, 1991, and any highway that is not in that system but which is in the National Highway System.

Notes

Defines “primary highway” as a highway other than an interstate highway that was part of the federal-aid primary system existing on June 1, 1991, plus any highway outside that system that is included in the National Highway System. The definition therefore uses both the historical federal-aid system and current National Highway System status.
