California Codes, Business and Professions Code - BPC, Division 3 — Professions and Vocations Generally, Chapter 20 — Electronic and Appliance Repair Dealers, Article 1 — General Provisions, Section 9805
No person registered under this chapter shall be required to apply for a license pursuant to Chapter 9 (commencing with Section 7000) if that person’s activities consist only of (a) installing satellite antenna systems on residential structures or property, or (b) installing, repairing, servicing, or maintaining televisions, or an electronic set normally used or sold for personal, family, household, or home office use, or any appliances, and that installation, repair, service, or maintenance is not subject to and regulated under Chapter 9.
Notes
Exempts a person registered under this chapter from needing a contractor license when activities are limited to installing residential satellite antenna systems or installing, repairing, servicing, or maintaining televisions, personal or household electronic sets, or appliances, provided the work is not subject to and regulated under the contractor-licensing chapter.
