California CodesBusiness and Professions Code - BPCDivision 3 — Professions and Vocations GenerallyChapter 20.3 — Automotive RepairArticle 7 — Denial, Suspension and RevocationSection 9889.7

The expiration or suspension of a license by operation of law or by order or decision of the director or a court of law, or the voluntary surrender of a license by a licensee shall not deprive the director of jurisdiction to proceed with any investigation of or action or disciplinary proceedings against such licensee, or to render a decision suspending or revoking such license.

Notes

Establishes that license expiration or suspension by law, director or court order, or voluntary surrender does not end the director’s jurisdiction over the licensee. Allows the director to continue investigations, actions, or disciplinary proceedings and to render a decision suspending or revoking the license despite its expiration, suspension, or surrender.
