California CodesBusiness and Professions Code - BPCDivision 8 — Special Business RegulationsChapter 5.5 — Franchise RelationsArticle 9 — Miscellaneous ProvisionsSection 20043

If any provision of this chapter or the application thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the chapter which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of the chapter are severable.

Notes

Establishes that if any provision of the chapter, or its application to a person or circumstance, is held invalid, the remaining provisions and applications continue to operate when they can be given effect without the invalid part. The chapter's provisions are therefore declared severable rather than wholly invalidated together.
