California Codes, Code of Civil Procedure - CCP, Part 2 — Of Civil Actions, Title 9 — Enforcement of Judgments, Division 2 — Enforcement of Money Judgments, Chapter 2 — Liens, Article 1 — General Provisions, Section 697.030

Subject to Sections 683.180 to 683.200, inclusive, and to Section 697.040, except where a shorter period is provided by statute, a lien created pursuant to this title is effective during the period of enforceability of the judgment.

Notes

Sets a lien created under the title to remain effective for the judgment's enforceability period, subject to the referenced renewal and lien provisions. A statute providing a shorter lien period controls instead, so the lien does not necessarily last as long as the judgment in every case.
