“Stock cooperative” has the same meaning as specified in Section 4190 or 6566 of the Civil Code, except that, as used in this chapter, a “stock cooperative” does not include a limited-equity housing cooperative.
Notes
Defines “stock cooperative” by adopting the meaning assigned in either of the cited Civil Code provisions, but excludes a limited-equity housing cooperative from that term for purposes of this chapter. The chapter therefore uses the Civil Code definition subject to this express carve-out, so the excluded cooperative type is not treated as a stock cooperative here.
