An osteopathic physician and surgeon licensed pursuant to the Osteopathic Initiative Act may utilize the services of an aide to assist the osteopathic physician and surgeon in the rendering of osteopathic manipulative treatment. The aide shall at all times be under the orders, direction, and immediate supervision of the osteopathic physician and surgeon. Nothing in this section shall authorize an aide to function independently of the osteopathic physician and surgeon or shall be construed as authorizing an osteopathic aide to practice medicine, surgery, or any other form of healing art.

Notes

Allows an osteopathic physician and surgeon licensed under the Osteopathic Initiative Act to use an aide to assist with osteopathic manipulative treatment. The aide must remain at all times under the physician's orders, direction, and immediate supervision and may not function independently or practice medicine, surgery, or any other healing art.
