Nothing in this article shall be construed to prevent the practice of midwifery by a person possessing a midwife’s certificate issued by the Medical Board of California on the effective date of this article.

Exempts a person holding a midwife’s certificate issued by the Medical Board of California on the article’s effective date from any construction that would prevent that person from practicing midwifery. Preserves the ability of a holder of such an effective-date certificate to continue practicing midwifery despite the article.
