The director may require an applicant or his or her qualified manager, to demonstrate his or her qualifications by a written or oral examination, or a combination of both.

Allows the director to require a license applicant or the applicant’s qualified manager to demonstrate qualifications through an examination. The examination may be written, oral, or a combination of both formats, and the provision gives the director discretion whether to require that demonstration from the applicant or qualified manager.
