California CodesBusiness and Professions Code - BPCDivision 3 — Professions and Vocations GenerallyChapter 20.3 — Automotive RepairArticle 3 — Registration ProcedureSection 9884.13

The expiration of a valid registration shall not deprive the director or chief of jurisdiction to proceed with any investigation or disciplinary proceeding against an automotive repair dealer or to render a decision invalidating a registration temporarily or permanently.

Notes

Establishes that expiration of a valid automotive-repair registration does not end the director’s or chief’s jurisdiction to investigate or conduct disciplinary proceedings against the dealer. Allows a decision temporarily or permanently invalidating the registration despite expiration, preserving enforcement authority after the credential’s normal expiration.
