Where not otherwise provided by law, the Department of Food and Agriculture has general supervision of the weights and measures and weighing and measuring devices sold or used in the state.
Notes
Establishes the Department of Food and Agriculture’s general supervision over weights and measures and weighing or measuring devices sold or used in California where another law does not provide otherwise. The department’s supervisory authority therefore applies as the default for those matters, but yields when law specifically assigns or provides a different supervisory arrangement.
