Notwithstanding any other requirements or provisions of this division, a sealer may permit the use of an unsealed device pending repairs if the device is in error only to the disadvantage of the user and if the user is always the seller. Such an unsealed device shall be repaired within 30 days.

Notes

Allows a sealer to permit temporary commercial use of an unsealed weighing or measuring device while repairs are pending when the device's error disadvantages only the user and that user is always the seller. The permitted device must be repaired within 30 days, making that repair deadline a condition of continued temporary use.
