California Codes, Business and Professions Code - BPC, Division 7 — General Business Regulations, Part 3 — Representations to the Public, Chapter 5 — Fictitious Business Names, Section 17915

A fictitious business name statement shall be filed with the clerk of the county in which the registrant has his or her principal place of business in this state or, if the registrant has no place of business in this state, with the Clerk of Sacramento County. This chapter does not preclude a person from filing a fictitious business name statement in a county other than that where the principal place of business is located, as long as the requirements of this section are also met.

Notes

Requires a fictitious-business-name statement to be filed with the county clerk where the registrant has its principal California place of business, or with the Sacramento County Clerk if there is no California place of business. Filing in another county is also allowed if the required filing under this rule is made as well.
