California Codes, Business and Professions Code - BPC, Division 8 — Special Business Regulations, Chapter 10 — Self-Service Storage Facilities, Section 21711

A purchaser in good faith of goods sold to enforce a lien or a judgment entered on the lien in favor of the owner on goods stored at a self-service storage facility takes the goods free of any rights of persons against whom the lien was claimed, despite noncompliance by the owner of the storage facility with the requirements of this chapter.

Notes

Allows a good-faith purchaser of goods sold to enforce a self-service-storage lien, or a judgment on that lien, to take the goods free of rights held by persons against whom the lien was claimed. This protection applies even when the storage-facility owner failed to comply with chapter requirements.
