No entity of state or local government shall by rule or otherwise regulate the practice of industrial hygiene by any certified industrial hygienist, except where authorized by state statute to regulate a specific activity that may include the practice of industrial hygiene.

Notes

Prohibits state or local government entities from regulating by rule or otherwise the practice of industrial hygiene by a certified industrial hygienist. Allows regulation only when a state statute authorizes the governmental entity to regulate a specific activity that may include industrial-hygiene practice.
