California Codes, Business and Professions Code - BPC, General Provisions, Section 22

“Board,” as used in any provision of this code, refers to the board in which the administration of the provision is vested, and unless otherwise expressly provided, shall include “bureau,” “commission,” “committee,” “department,” “division,” “examining committee,” “program,” and “agency.”

Notes

Defines “board” as the entity in which administration of a code provision is vested and, unless expressly provided otherwise, includes a bureau, commission, committee, department, division, examining committee, program, and agency. The definition broadens the term across the code while allowing a provision to expressly use a narrower meaning.
