California Codes, Civil Code - CIV, Division 1 — Persons, Part 2.6 — Confidentiality of Medical Information, Chapter 2.6 — Genetic Privacy, Section 56.186

The provisions of this chapter are severable. If any provision of this chapter or its application is held invalid, that invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications that can be given effect without the invalid provision or application.

Notes

Establishes that the provisions of the genetic privacy chapter are severable, so a court holding any single provision or its application invalid leaves every other provision and application in force wherever they can be given effect without the invalid one. Creates no obligation of its own.
