California Codes, Civil Code - CIV, Division 2 — Property, Part 4 — Acquisition of Property, Title 4 — Transfer, Chapter 1 — Transfers in General, Article 4 — Interpretation of Grants, Section 1072

Words of inheritance or succession are not requisite to transfer a fee in real property.

Notes

Establishes that a grant of real property may transfer a fee estate without using words of inheritance or succession. The provision removes those traditional words as a prerequisite to passing fee title and states no required substitute wording, deadline, consideration amount, or exception to that rule.
