California Codes, Civil Code - CIV, Division 2 — Property, Part 4 — Acquisition of Property, Title 4 — Transfer, Chapter 2 — Transfer of Real Property, Article 1.4 — Installation of Water Use Efficiency Improvements, Section 1101.9

Any city, county, or city and county that has adopted an ordinance requiring retrofit of noncompliant plumbing fixtures prior to July 1, 2009, shall be exempt from the requirements of this article so long as the ordinance remains in effect.

Notes

Exempts a city, county, or city and county from the article’s plumbing-fixture requirements while a local ordinance requiring retrofit of noncompliant plumbing fixtures remains in effect, provided that ordinance was adopted before July 1, 2009. The exemption ends if the qualifying local ordinance no longer remains in effect.
