California Codes, Civil Code - CIV, Division 3 — Obligations, Part 2 — Contracts, Title 2 — Manner of Creating Contracts, Section 1629

All distinctions between sealed and unsealed instruments are abolished.

Notes

Establishes that sealed and unsealed instruments have no legal distinction under the governing rules. The presence or absence of a seal therefore does not create a separate category of instrument or different legal treatment merely because one document bears a seal and another does not.
