(a) A card issuer shall not be liable for a billing error made by the retailer.
(b) A retailer shall not be liable for a billing error made by a card issuer.
Notes
Exempts a card issuer from liability for a billing error made by a retailer and exempts a retailer from liability for a billing error made by a card issuer. The provision allocates responsibility for billing errors to the party that made the error rather than the other participant.
