California Codes, Civil Code - CIV, Division 3 — Obligations, Part 4 — Obligations Arising from Particular Transactions, Title 6 — Service, Chapter 4 — Lost and Unclaimed Property, Article 1 — Lost Money and Goods, Section 2080.7

The provisions of this article have no application to things which have been intentionally abandoned by their owner.

Notes

Exempts things intentionally abandoned by their owner from the article governing found or saved property. Limits the article's application to property outside that intentional-abandonment category, so an owner's deliberate abandonment places the thing beyond the procedures and rules that this article otherwise applies to found property.
