Section Twenty-two Hundred and Four. If, from any cause other than want of ordinary care and diligence on his part, a common carrier is unable to deliver perishable property transported by him, and collect his charges thereon, he may cause the property to be sold in open market to satisfy his lien for freightage.

Notes

Allows a common carrier unable to deliver perishable property and collect its charges, for a reason other than the carrier's lack of ordinary care and diligence, to sell the property in the open market. Limits the sale authority to satisfying the carrier's freightage lien on the transported perishable property.
