California Codes, Civil Code - CIV, Division 3 — Obligations, Part 4 — Obligations Arising from Particular Transactions, Title 9 — Agency, Chapter 1 — Agency in General, Article 2 — Authority of Agents, Section 2326

A special agent to sell has authority to receive the price on delivery of the thing sold, but not afterwards.

Notes

Allows a special agent authorized to sell property to receive the sale price when the item sold is delivered, but not afterward. The agent’s authority to collect the price therefore exists at delivery and ends after delivery, limiting receipt authority to that point in the sale transaction.
