A judge has a duty to decide any proceeding in which he or she is not disqualified.

Notes

Requires a judge to decide every proceeding in which the judge is not disqualified. The duty applies whenever disqualification does not prevent the judge from acting, making decision of the proceeding mandatory for a judge who remains qualified to hear and determine it under the stated rule.
