The referee is not personally liable on contracts made, or for expenses incurred, except as such liability is expressly assumed by the referee in writing.
Notes
Exempts the referee from personal liability for contracts made and expenses incurred in the referee’s role, except when the referee expressly assumes that liability in writing. Personal liability therefore applies only to obligations the referee has expressly agreed in writing to assume.
