California Codes, Code of Civil Procedure - CCP, Part 2 — Of Civil Actions, Title 10 — Actions in Particular Cases, Chapter 4 — Quiet Title, Article 6 — Liens and Encumbrances, Section 765.060

If a lien or other encumbrance is recorded or filed against a public officer or employee in violation of Section 765.010, the state or local agency that employs the public officer or employee may provide counsel for the public officer or employee in an action brought pursuant to that section.

Notes

Allows the state or local agency employing a public officer or employee to provide counsel when a lien or other encumbrance has been recorded or filed against that officer or employee in violation of the specified law and an action is brought under that same law.
