A pending action or proceeding does not abate by the death of a party if the cause of action survives.

Establishes that a pending action or proceeding does not abate because a party dies when the cause of action survives. The matter may therefore continue notwithstanding the death, provided the underlying cause is one that survives under the applicable law.
