California Codes, Code of Civil Procedure - CCP, Part 2 — Of Civil Actions, Title 9 — Enforcement of Judgments, Division 1 — Definitions and General Provisions, Chapter 6 — Enforcement After Death of Judgment Creditor or Judgment Debtor, Section 686.020

After the death of the judgment debtor, enforcement of a judgment against property in the judgment debtor’s estate is governed by the Probate Code, and not by this title.

Notes

Exempts enforcement against property in a deceased judgment debtor’s estate from this title. After the debtor’s death, enforcement of the judgment against estate property is governed by the Probate Code instead, so this title does not supply the controlling enforcement procedure for that estate property.
