(a) The Legislature may provide that counties perform municipal functions at the request of cities within them.

(b) If provided by their respective charters, a county may agree with a city within it to assume and discharge specified municipal functions.

Notes

Allows the Legislature to authorize a county to perform municipal functions when a city within the county requests those services. Also allows a county and city to agree that the county will assume and discharge specified municipal functions when both charters provide for that arrangement.
