Every person, who by himself or herself, or through or for another, sells any commodity in less quantity than he or she represents it to be is guilty of a misdemeanor, except as provided in Section 12024.3.

Notes

Establishes a misdemeanor for a person who, personally or through or for another, sells a commodity in a quantity smaller than the quantity represented. The rule applies to short-quantity sales regardless of whether the person acts directly or through another, but expressly makes the prohibition subject to the exception provided in the cited provision.
