California CodesBusiness and Professions Code - BPCDivision 9 — Alcoholic BeveragesChapter 3 — Licenses and FeesArticle 4 — Club LicensesSection 23431

The holder of a club license may exercise all of the rights and privileges permitted by an on-sale general license but may sell and serve alcoholic beverages for consumption within the licensed establishment only to bona fide members of the club and their bona fide guests. A club license is not transferable from person to person. The provisions of Article 2 of Chapter 5 of this division do not apply to the issuance of club licenses.

Notes

Allows a club licensee all rights and privileges of an on-sale general license but limits on-premises alcoholic-beverage sales and service to bona fide club members and their bona fide guests. Makes a club license nontransferable from person to person and exempts issuance of club licenses from the specified license-limitation article.
