California Codes, Civil Code - CIV, Division 3 — Obligations, Part 4 — Obligations Arising from Particular Transactions, Title 3 — Deposit, Chapter 2 — Deposit for Keeping, Article 3 — Storage, Section 1855

Notwithstanding an agreement respecting the length of time during which a deposit is to continue, it may be terminated by the depositor on paying all that would become due to the depositary in case of the deposit so continuing.

Notes

Allows a depositor to terminate a deposit even when an agreement specifies how long the deposit will continue, provided the depositor pays everything that would become due to the depositary if the deposit continued for the agreed period. Establishes this termination right notwithstanding the agreed deposit duration.
